Goose Rock is a high point in Deception Pass State Park, with a great overlook south over the island.
Getting to the summit probably isn't for people who are really out of shape, but I did meet a man on the trail (twice) who used this hike to get into fantastic shape. (Twice a day he does the walk!) Goose Rock Hike

This is a great little place to take a good walk, or possibly to take lunch to have on the beach. The entrance is very humble, but the park itself has wonderful trails, a beach, and the biggest tree I've seen in Washington.
On Whidbey Island people decorate and scatter rocks with artwork. It has contributed to the great sense of community here.
