Goose Rock is a high point in Deception Pass State Park, with a great overlook south over the island.
Getting to the summit probably isn't for people who are really out of shape, but I did meet a man on the trail (twice) who used this hike to get into fantastic shape. (Twice a day he does the walk!) Goose Rock Hike When you're looking for the right stuff, often you need to make a trip off the island.
Cash and carry is one of those places. It carries food and equipment in restaurant size quantities and wholesale prices. Meat, milk, cheese coffee syrups ice cream, beans, are all available there. If you're stocking up for a party its worth a stop. The closest Cash and Carry is in Burlington. Cash and Carry Burlington store From Hill road you can see the bluff. Hiking along it, and then along the beach is one of the most popular hikes on Whidbey Island. There are two entries, One at the beach by Hill Road (where parking is limited) and another up the hill on Cemetery Road. Ebey's Landing Hike This is one of only three boat launches on Whidbey Island that works in ALL tidal Conditions.
