Whidbey Island is surrounded by fishing areas 6, 8-1, 8-2 & 9 (click there for a link) Halibut has special rules found here. (they can be hard to find.) Yesterday, had an encounter with the Coast Guard. There's a submarine base near us, and the security is tight. It wasn't a problem, they were very polite. They waited with us until the submarine was past us.

If you're out of shape, this is a workout. (If you're in great shape, I saw people running this trail -- up and down!) The lake is small and peaceful. There is an excellent overlook of Puget Sound at the view point -- which is a spur from the main trail. Washington Trails - Fragrance Lake Fitbit scored it as about 110 flights of stairs, and 4 miles. It's steep. Definitely one to do again.
