Lingcod & Halibut are now open. (Halibut is special, check the links, because the rules change frequently.)

Whidbey Island is surrounded by fishing areas 6, 8-1, 8-2 & 9 (click there for a link)

Halibut has special rules found here. (they can be hard to find.)

Yesterday, had an encounter with the Coast Guard. There's a submarine base near us, and the security is tight. It wasn't a problem, they were very polite. They waited with us until the submarine was past us.

The Art Program at Oak Harbor High school is fantastic. Great teachers, and students are producing great stuff.

The program is competing in the Vans Custom Culture Shoe Customization Contest.

Hike: Fragrance Lake

If you're out of shape, this is a workout. (If you're in great shape, I saw people running this trail -- up and down!) The lake is small and peaceful.

There is an excellent overlook of Puget Sound at the view point -- which is a spur from the main trail.

Washington Trails - Fragrance Lake

Fitbit scored it as about 110 flights of stairs, and 4 miles. It's steep. Definitely one to do again.
